AND ON METRO, ABATEMENTS, POLICITCAL CONTRIBS. As to what brings
Metro into the picture in AP....

(2003)....Hoboken City officials began closed door negotiations with
developer Dean Geibel that brazenly ignored the recommendations of
this new Master Plan.

...Dean Geibel, the developer of 800 Jackson, has given $24,200 to
these same political organizations

...Wednesday, after an hour of public comment, the council voted 5-3
to award a 20-year tax abatement to Geibel. The vote put an end to a
tumultuous issue marked by discontent over awarding abatements to
developments in an area of Jersey City where there is no perceived
need (SOUND FAMILIAR - LIKE ALONG THE OCEANFRONT), and allowing a
property owner to benefit financially due to possible political
influence.

...April 2004
Hoboken has a new surprise for the Palisade Cliffs!

A 152 foot high and 295 foot long building right next to the Light
Rail elevator! The developer, Dean Geibel, is asking for additional
variances on top of the generous terms of the existing Redevelopment
Zone .....(SOS)

The defeated ordinance would have given an abatement to Hoboken-based
developer Dean Geibel, whose deal with Hyman to buy Flintkote fell
apart just before 1 a.m. yesterday, as council members cast their
votes at the end of a six-hour meeting.
"If there's no tax abatement, I don't want the deal," said Geibel,
who added that he has already spent $600,000 for preliminary work on
the proposed 432-unit condominium project that was slated to be built
at the Flintkote site, at Luis Muñoz Marin Boulevard and Grand
Street.
