If the council decides that these building should be saved, wouldn't the city then be in default?

The majority on the council feels that they are married at the hip
to Partners. I give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that
they feel they are acting in the best interests of the city. THEY
ARE WRONG. Despite initial rumblings at the beginning of the recent
renegotiations that the council was not concerned about bad press, I
am afraid that they fear it terribly. That is evident from Reidy's
recent remarks in the APP that default would have sent a terrible
message.

I beleive that the press gives a false impression of the progress in
this city. Outsiders who know I am involved here remark to me all
the time how they see (in the press) how things are progressing. It
is too long a story to tell them.

Each should judge for themselves. Compare the results of what
private developers, such as Fasano, have wrought with that of
Partners. Look at Cookman Avenue and other properties Fasano et al
have renovated. Then look at the pavillions. Look at CH, Hojos, the
Paramount and best of all, the Casino. Who would you want building
your home? Fasano or Fishman?

While it is my wish (for the benefit of this cit) to send Fishman
packing, I don't ask you for that. What I ask is that if you were
honest in asnwering the question above you would know that the
Baronet and other properties on that block should be saved and that
Fasano should be allowed to renovate them. I ask you to give your
support in order to allow the maority on the council to find its
courage to do something about it. I know the majority wants to save
these buildings. The majority needs each of us to step up to that
microphone to validate what it already knows. Give it the strength
to say NO to Fishman. Give it the strength to say NO to the
bulldozers ready to destroy another piece of this city's past.
