Diversionary Tactics - Hey, look at that great view across Wesley
Lake.
Pay no attention to that cookie-cutter, replicated, suburban,
townhome development you will be occupying. The one where every
building is just like the one next to it, in the ever popular pastel
shades. The one where the sides of the buildings face the Lake and
the power meters are convieniently located at the sidewalk.
Asbury Park had a chance to build something very unique and
attractive along Lake Ave. A development that could have celebrated
the historical links and evolution between Ocean Grove and Asbury
Park. Building upon the architectural context and pedestrian links
across the Lake would have unified the entire area.
Another missed opportunity to add value by design. One of many.
