Bureaucratic rules and regulations in our lives are a mixed bag.

At this time of year, I sometimes nostalgically think back to the days when homeowners would burn the fallen leaves in their yards or at the curb, and that smell, at least to me, was just another wonderful sign of the season, like lilacs in the spring.

It also was another of many ways back then that neighbors got to know each other.

But I'm not ready to slam the bureaucrats among firefighters and environmentalists for the current rules and prohibitions.

I'll take the professionals' word under normal circumstances.

No, I have a real problem with everything in this country being over
litigated, over regulated, over officiated etc.
What happened to good old fun?
Plus, they probably would've had a pretty good turnout, which would've
been good for local business's, not just in OG, but maybe in AP too.
