Now you are really stretching it, but I'll ive it to you that you said "legend has it." > Are you quite certain I'm wrong about the Bradley lawsuit? No. I don't claim to be a historian. > I'll tell you what I'll do. I'm in Freehold Monday. I'll see if I > can dig up records on the suit, if there is any. Well that is what would prove it. Absent that it is all "legend has it." While you are there get a copy of the deed to the city. I would like to see the easements regarding perpetual public use of the property and the purported reverter clause that if the property becomes private, it reverts back to the Bradely heirs. I heard they got screwed by the city and that that continues to this day. > > Not that it matters anyway. The topic was did Bradley benevolently > want the people to have the Beachfront. Unlesswe have writings from Bradleywe don't know why he was reluctant to give it up. It may be that he was worried about the uses that would be allowed there. He was a real right winger that Bradley. He'd probably support Dubya today. > I think you are a fair person. As I said before, we are all making conclusions. It appears he was reluctant to give it up to city control. You conclude that it was because he wanted it for himself. But you cannot know. When he did sell it he wanted to make sure that it remained in public use. Your buddies have violated those wishes. Yahoo!
