The Fountain was chosen because it was a "safe" project. While I was advocating
for
preservation of Historic Sites in the redevelopment area the APHS was busy
spending over
$30K (yes Thousand) on the fountain and park.

It was not in a redevelopment area, would not be a controversial issue and
would not be
flagged as "anti-development. I always said it was premature considering the
social dynamics
of the area and predicted that it would be destroyed.

Over $30K that could have been spent on a lawsuit or injunction to prevent the
destruction of
Nationally significant historic sites and make this a better redevelopment plan.
