Not sure where you got your geology and earth-science degree Tom, but 
that's such an oversimplifed view of the not-so long term impacts of 
global warming.  I'd also love to understand the logic that says we 
can cut down so many billions of acres of trees worldwide and pump so 
much fossil feul exhaust into the atmosphere and it has no impact on 
the health of the planet.  That is just not a logical and rationale 
argument.  

Article today in either the NY times or USA Today (or both) on the 
reduction in food worldwide caused by global climate change in key 
growing areas around the world.  Those hurt are the poorest of the 
poor, who are seeing far more drought.  So much for your argument - 
unless you meant those poor folks who would benefit are in Greenland 
and Siberia.  They're not really who come to mind when I think of the 
world's disadvantaged.
