Obama worked his way through college and became a commuity organizer
to help the poor (for about 4 years). Then, he attended the best law
school in the country, granduating magna cum laude. At that law
school, he became editor in chief of the Law Review, the best
scholarly legal journal in the country- a major accomplishment.
After law school, Obama became an associate with a small civil
rights firm (and he could have had his pick of ANY job in the
country). He also soon became a professor of constitutional law and
a state senator. Then a US senator.
People discuss Obama and his "lack of experience" as if he just
graduated from college. He was a practicing civil rights attorney, a
conlaw prof, and a senator- all around the same time, if I am not
mistaken- I am going off memory here!
Palin went to a bunch of colleges and then became a sports caster,
right? Then she was a mom, then a member of the PTA, on town
council, then mayor, then somehow became the Governor of Alaska for
less than two years. That rise to success is incredible, but I don't
think you can compare that to Obama. Even if you say that being a
governor gives you more executive experience than being in the US
Senate- what about the years before? Obama was teaching conlaw while
Palin was where?- and cannot even name a Supreme Court decision BTW.
20% of VPs became Presidents (because of death and then Nixon).
Palin is so far out of her league it is frightening. And then what
she believes in...
Drill baby drill, even though it would not result in any better oil
domestic production for many years while destroying the environment.
She has no foreign policy experience and thinks Putin is rearing is
head??? Can you imagine her negotiating with any foreign power?
15 year girls who get raped by their fathers should be denied
abortions (and even the morning after pill)???
Women in Wasilla should pay for their own rape kits???
Homosexuality is a choice and she denied insurance to state worker's
same sex partners??
She would pay to for the forelegs of wolves???
Will not admit that global warming is man made???
I could go on and on. I mean on every front, she makes me ill. I
know, I should not respond and go to Asbury Politics, but all this
pro-Palin stuff was making me nuts.
