Sweeping generalizations and comparisons to unrelated places make for a very 
poor 
conclusion.

Without going into all the detail about Historic Districts, Land Use Law, 
Federal 
designations, etc... The facts regarding the beachfrontt are:

- designated as a Historic District in the City Master plan.
- designated in the Monmouth County Historic Sites Inventory.
- part of the NJ State Coastal Heritage Trail.
- Federally designated under the Save America's Treasures program.
...
