I don't look down on anyone. I grew up dirt poor and know poor as well as
anyone else. I struggled to get an education and get ahead in life. Life is
much easier if you have connections and money it is a cake walk under these
conditions an unfair cake walk. It isn't any easier for a poor white kid that
it is for a poor green kid the rules are the same.

I will say that if you surround yourself with people that tell you you can't
make it when you are young you may start to believe them. If you are smart you
take this negativity and feed on it because it will make you stronger and take
a hard look at the people telling you that you won't make it.

You can either complain and be bitter or pick yourself up and go for it. It is
the American way and unless you have a mental handicap it is possible to
achieve anything you want.
It is by no means easy especially if you aren't already connected and it takes
years and there are so many times you just want to quit and take the easy way
out. You better yourself or remain static in life. Even if you do these things
there is no guarantee but there is the possibility and it is this reason people
want to get into this country so badly.

It is not ridiculous to feel your tax dollars are going into a black hole. Do
you know where your tax dollars go because I sure as hell don't? If you do
something you love try to make money at it. Usually the money follows when you
take that route. BTW I do know you.

Put a little effort in? You don't know anything about me, or what I've chosen
to do for a
living, now do you?
I work my ass off, but honestly, money is not a motivator for me. Sure, it
comes in handy,
but I don't base my life around it. I make a comfortable living, doing 2 jobs,
both which I
love. One is in the internet world, the other doing sound at the Saint, which i
do because I
love it, and not for the money I make doing it.
It's kind've offensive that you say that some of the new taxes are going to go
into a black
hole. That's ridiculous. From what I understand, that money is going to be used
to
improve healthcare, improve our energy independence and responsibility, fix our
broken
education systems and on and on.
I get the feeling that you tend to look down on people less fortunate then
you...

it can be done. This is the amount many small business's make and rather than
reinvest in
their business to hire more people, they will have to send any reinvestment
money into the
black hole.
