I'm with you, I went last night to the meeting for a bit (had to leave earlier than I wanted)
And I decided last night that I am going to be a regular fixture there I want to put together some issues I think need to be addressed, and include possible solutions Hinge, when I'm done I want to email that to you, so you could look over it and even add in anything I missed, or anything you feel is important as well Something needs to get done, and we all know, power in numbers Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry -----Original Message----- From: "Hinge" <hing...@yahoo.com> Sender: AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com Date: Wed, 21 Jul 2010 01:31:26 To: <AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com> Reply-To: AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com Subject: [AsburyPark] The Esperanza and the lot behind the Empress Why doesn't anybody start a movement to get this city to actually do something about the eyesores that diminish what's good about our boardwalk. 1- The Esperanza. It needs to go. 2- The pathetic construction lot behind the Empress - it also needs to go. I attended a laughable council meeting not too long ago where Loffredo suggested moving it to the lot across the street. Yeah right, great solution. I think it's time that we citizens start speaking up about this. Both locations suck, and there's no valid excuse to not do something about it. Here's my idea - Make the lot behind the Empress employee parking for the boardwalk, and surround it with something attractive, like well done landscaping. The Esperanza - Tear the piece of shit down. Forget about it. We can't afford to have that eyesore sitting there for another decade, but nothing will happen unless the citizens of this city speak up. And there's the problem - we're all too busy to actually make a stand and go to the council meetings en masse. We're more comfortable here then actually going into the world and doing something. That's what I plan to do, even if it's futile. Anybody want to join me? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
