so true. And if you argue about things being torn down, people shrug and say 
you don't like change. "Things change."  Yes, of course, things change but 
things can also be preserved.  There's something special about certain places 
and that certain 'something' should be preserved. People destroy the thing that 
enticed people to the area - a certain charm, as if the ocean and boardwalk are 
the only things worthwhile to Asbury's history.

Are there any activist groups working on this even back when the redevelopment 
began? I can't figure it out. I live in NYC and there would be people 
protesting/doing something. I know there's a group that was working on the 
destruction of the trees issue.
