It shouldn't be surprising to anyone that the state monitor had to step in and
act to close the school - this board's failure to act in either accepting the
reorganization proposal put forward or closing the school on their own is
business as usual.

But what's most amazing, for one of the most important meetings the school
board has had for a while is below...

"At the meeting, board president Gregory Hopson and members Gregory Brewington
and Garrett Giberson supported the superintendent's plan. Connie Breech voted
no. Kevin Michel and recently appointed John Morton both abstained.

Members Remond Palmer, Joseph Raines and Geneva Smallwood were absent. Palmer
and Raines indicated earlier in the week that they were going to support the
high school's boys basketball team that was playing at the same time in a state
championship tournament in Toms River."

Seriously, they thought their presence as a basketball game was more important
than attending a vote on the future of the entire school system???? Shame on
them. And shame on those who voted for them. When you elect those who
continually demonstrate ineptitude, that's what you get.

Close the district. Is there really any other hope?
