I think that the art aspect is wonderful, but why limit a city that's always been so diverse with just one thing?
Let's not pigeonhole Asbury - rather, let's embrace its diversity, and utilize that. As for the question earlier about where the Revision would relocate to, there are a few ideas, but the first one is that if the Casino is rebuilt as it was supposed to be, there would be plenty of room to move it inward some, perhaps the area where the old fun house was? Or, better yet, it could use another building that is currently empty - last I checked, there was still nothing in the old Hitching Rail / Higgenbottom's Pizza Pub building adjacent to the Pony, that is longer and narrower but I think roughly the same square footage as the Carousel House. Also, aren't the upstairs areas of Convention Hall still not being used? Just a few thoughts! In business one of the key determinants of success is focusing on something specific and doing it extremely well. having a few rides will just be an eyesore and a half baked attempt at luring some families in. in my humble opinion i think they need to keep going with the art and music scene as far as they can take it. An adult playground so to speak. Pick a vision (werner has done a good job detailing why music and entertainment make sense), stick to it and then don't veer from the course. Focus and build. I agree with art, music, beerfests etc... I had a bunch of friends down and they loved the beerfest. Spent a bundle at the beer fest, ate at pops and then probably spent a few hundred in Porta. All good for the town. Let's not despair at this point. Look at what is happening on Cookman. Art focused, keep it going. They seem to be the problem now. My calls for a carousel in the carousel house are ignored. iStar needs the Casino area to be done. While it is a partner with MM, MM has control. I think that will have to change and maybe will. > > > --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "oakdorf" <oakdorf@> wrote: > > > > > > there's no reason why you can't have a "classy" amusement area - if wanted at all.
