Maybe you're just a bit too impatient... don't expect quick replies on a
weekend :) ath5k-users has 67 subscribers at this time, and ath5k-devel
has not much more (76).

We had to learn that PCI IDs are no reliable way to identify the Atheros
chipset that is used by a card.

Example: Many recent AR5007-based cards for example wrongly use the AR5006
PCI ID, making users think that AR5006 support is broken in MadWifi, while
the real "problem" is that we have no AR5007 support. Hence the
introduction of ath_info, which uses code from ath5k to reliably identify
the chipset.
