I modified the source to force the tx power up, and signal level stays
high, and the rate does not drop below 54Mb/s, but... throughput still
remains low, and after rx of around 400-500kb of data I get a kernel
panic, entire system locked up, just capslock flashing.

Any suggestions on how to catch the oops details, I reboot but they have
not appeared in the logs, it must be crashing so hard that the kernel
does not get a chance to write them out.
