modified version of a previously published entry. The linkage between the
two instances of the entry is that they share a common atom:id.
        Forcing each instance of each entry to have a unique id would make
it impossible for us to do what users expect us to do in one aspect of
"duplicate" detection. i.e. Users don't normally want to see ever state of
an entry as it develops over time, what they typically want to see is the
most recent state of the entry. To provide this, we need a way to link
together the various versions or states of the entry -- that is done with
atom:id. Priority of the versions is determined using atom:modified...
