I just compiled the first patch without problems, but when trying out the package I run into problems, however that might be caused by my xemacs installation on the laptop I use at home. I have no time to fix it now, but can try it tomorrow in the university where I should have a working xemacs installtion. Sorry. BTW I asked Steven Turnbull about the locale problem, he speaks japanese, works in Japan, is a Xemacs devolper but unfortunately uses little auctex.
