One thing you might care to try is to change out the stock switching power supply for a linear one.
I have compared a linear to the switcher. I felt that the sound of the SB2 with the stock supply was fairly harsh in the highs. With the linear supply the sound was smoother and more natural. There are internal changes that can be made to the SB2 that would take it further along this path.
