Why not backup in FLAC?  Or at least APE if you are worried about FLAC,
it's source code and all existing executables suddenly dissapearing.

The only reason I think people who use FLAC yet still have some sort of
"backup" as WAV is because they don't trust FLAC.  If you don't trust it
then please don't use it.  It promised you it's lossless, most people
here will say it is.  If you still don't believe us then don't use it -
it's your music that's at stake if we're all lying, not ours.

IMHO WAV should only ever be used as a transitionary format, or as a
format if you play around with sound sampling.
