bass at volume is always going to be tied to the woofer diameter/ displacement and the size of the room it needs to drive.
bookshelf speakers have it hardest, it sounds like you need floorstanding speakers. i have that setup now and spend my entire life adjusting my sub volume. i dont believe it matches my m22's linearly, ie, i need it almost off when playing quiet music and dialed well over half for loud. if you are a fire and forget person i dont think subs are suitable.
