I've never done it 16x, but if someone wants to come over and do it 16x, I'm more than happy to. I have done it 8x, with listeners getting it right 100%, so going on to 16x seemed silly. > Also, as far as there being a difference between cheap power cords and > the fancy ones, don't you think manufacturers of $10,000 amplifiers > supply decent power cords? But hey, who needs logic when you > have such "golden" ears. Like I said, with regards to high powered amplifiers with good high speed rectifiers, I believe the most important thing to get right is the gauge; and in most cases, vendors of $10K amplifiers get that right with the "stock" cord. And I don't believe you need "golden ears" to hear it. The power cord doesn't need to be expensive to impact the sound, either. -- PhilNYC Sonic Spirits Inc. http://www.sonicspirits.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PhilNYC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=837 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19818 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
