Double Precision really doesn't do much in this application. The numbers are fixed point, 16-bit for RedBook, sometimes 24 bit for DVD-A. The real trick is dithering the data back down to 16 bits. Just truncating the data (either double, single floating, or long integers) is clearly audible. -- Pat http://www.pfarrell.com/music/slimserver/slimsoftware.html _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
