I'm confused on whether you're planning to take the output of the SB3 and run in direct into your power amps, or through a preamp first.
If you are considering going direct into your power amps, I would recommend some simple stepped signal attenuators. I bought a pair of made by Scott Endler for $40 each and am happy with them.
