Hmm. Thank you for this, Nikhil. If that is the case, since I've never had any problems with iTunes provided its error correction is on, I think I might be sticking with it. I am quite curious to know, though, what is thought to be sub par about it.

EAC appears to be PC only.

I doubt if there is anything as comprehensive as EAC for the mac, but
Max (along with is sister applications Tag and Cog) is quite good
