I find this amazing. First of all, audio shows are NOT the place to do comparisons. Hardly ideal situations. This is to the poster above.
Second, yes, I'm afraid, the burden IS on the modder to prove WHY something is superior. Sorry, but anyone selling $700 power cords and Bybee filters might be a nice person, might mean well, might be a great guys, etc, but remains suspect. Third, the burden IS -- really IS -- on the modder to provide technical and scientific evidence. Sorry, but numbers don't lie. Some people do have bad ears, though, and prefer equipment that is euphonic, not neutral, or whatever. I'm sure Wayne and others will have a modded Transporter soon. That is, after all, how they make their living...and this thread shows just how many people are willing to throw reason to the wind and bite. 95bcwh;141874 Wrote: > Don't forget, you are the one that started this thread and thrashing > Wayne's product without even listening to it first. > > Measurement doesn't tell the whole picture, I have done a test with two > different power supply for the squeezebox, one that's measured > perfectly, and one that's measured to have a lot of noise. Simple and satisfying. In a larger room, I would move back to larger speakers, subs, and probably RCS. My larger speakers were, natch, Harbeth Monitor 40s with dual ACI Force subwoofers, a Bel Canto line stage (wonderful device) a Rane EQ system, and measurement gear including calibrated mics, a Presonus audio device, measurement software for the Mac, etc. It's nice being back to simple. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ highdudgeon's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2195 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28080 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
