I use a Ming-Da valve amp in my kitchen system that is about six inches across; it cost me well under £200 and works well. I also use a Sonic Impact T-amp for my computer system that is tiny but actually sounds OK; I haven't done an A-B comparison with the Ming-Da but I suspect it might be slightly better... I expect that systems like the SB3 + T-amp will take over the world soon: 99% of people don't want anything better, and to be honest, it does sound good. Although to do it properly, of course, you need a battery power station the size of the Three Gorges Dam... -- adamslim SB3 and Shanling CDT-100, Rotel RT-990BX, Esoteric Audio Research 859, Living Voice Auditorium IIs, Nordost cables ------------------------------------------------------------------------ adamslim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28366 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
