There are lot of successful small UK companies in different fields and VC are always looking for the next big thing to make some money from. Many fail, but lots survive too - companies like Dyson and ARM and others around Cambridge. The US does have the benefit of scale however, selling thousands of units is easier in a country of 300 million people, whereas in Europe there are about 300 million people too, but spread over many countries and cultures. There's a fairly good debate on this here: http://www.plasticbag.org/archives/2005/07/where_are_all_the_uk_startups/ BTW Audioscrobbler/Last.fm is British! -- CardinalFang ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CardinalFang's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=962 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28862 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
