Compared to my Sony DVP-S9000ES playing CDs, the A3.24 is definitely warmer, yet not lose much details, piano (my favorite instrument) sounds more forceful and clearer, human voices fuller bodied and more lush. Against SACD discs, close but no cigar, similar warm sounding but not as smooooth, still pleasant though. Since being an audiophile, the question always on my mind is "but is it more accurate and faithful to the source than the Sony?", I don't know but I prefer the MF DAC over my Sony for regular (read low-rez) 44.1K digital audio.
