If your location limits you to mass produced brands, don't miss auditioning Paradigm Monitor series. The line is fully expandable to 7.1. I have floor standing model HomeTheater configuration and 2 channel stereo for music. The sound is full and warm, but at some expense of detail, however given its role as a crowd pleaser in the livingroom, it is perfectly acceptable. Paradigm is mass produced here in Canada and dealer network is extensive (where are you? NA? Europe?). Also relatively cheaper Canadian dollar makes them attractively priced.
