I haven't tried DRC, but it is a lot cheaper than Acourate (free vs $430+ ). Acourate does phase correction that other systems don't (as far as I know). It would make sense to start out with DRC. I went for Acourate last fall since it would also generate TacT RCS filters, and at the time Inguz had a bug in the convolver that has since been fixed. Once you can make response measurements and have DRC under control, you can submit a measurement and a favorite music file to the Acourate author and he'll send you back the corrected music file to try out - so you can compare them for yourself. There's an Acourate Yahoo Group if you're interested - http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/acourate/ Regards, Kim -- krochat ------ SB3 (+linear) -> Big Ben -> TacT RCS 2.2X -> 2xS2150 -> Vandersteen 3a Signature + TacT W210 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ krochat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6579 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35450 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
