Sean ought to know if there is a difference in operation between power
off and pause - after all he did design the thing!.

If you check the "locked" light on your MF DAC you will see that it
never even flickers when changing from pause-play-power off, implying
that the digital stream is uninterrupted and must simply be changing to
zeroes when not playing.


I think that the reason that "resume after power off" works as it does
is because all that happens when power is off is that the display turns
off...

You really need to try OpaqueIce's suggestion.

By the way, have you measured the RT60 response of your room?
