You might also consider a Grace m902
(http://www.gracedesign.com/products/m902/m902.htm). It has a useful
feature that the Benchmark and Lavry DACs lack: analog inputs. Thus, if
you have a tuner or some analog other source, you can use the m902
without a separate preamp. And, you can get it with an optional remote
control.

I haven't heard the Benchmark or Lavry units myself, but in
head-to-head comparisons using an SB3 as the source, the sound quality
of the Grace was indistinguishable from my Dodson DAC-263 (a fabulous
sounding $2000+ DAC that is unfortunately no longer available).
