Maybe. How can you tel for sure?. Anyway, the CS8420 is best driven differentialy. Up to 5V for the AES/EBU. The protocol is not much different from SPDIF. If you change the attenuator on the SB output for less attenuation, but same impedanse, I'll bet it will lock nicely. But, then other problems migth occure :) (reflections etc..)
