Ya, the acronyms and abreviations used in the electronics world can make it difficult to get started! You might try Wikipedia, a quick search showed a description of the various amplifier classes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_amplifier I've also found http://www.acronymfinder.com useful on occasion.
