I haven't measured the RFI, but logically thinking, can a source of a
very high frequency located IN the unit and very close to the other
audio equipment (the aerial) positively affect the sound? Rather vice
versa.

Yes, I know. But since I do not know WHAT in particular is turned off
(the whole card or some circuits on the card), I would prefer to not
having it in at all.
