Sometimes i feel the discussion about CD vs Vinyl ends up into the
trenches and sometimes it's not always that nice =:-O?

Up until recently I believed that vinyl would be more about music, CD
is more sterile, there's something artificial there...

Until sometines Last summer when I went to the upper end high end room
at Oslo Hi-Fi center in Oslo, Norway.

Listening to Pink Floyd, the wall, Digitized from winyl, utilizing only
the very best there is, un to a standard CD, reed bok 44.1/16 bit.

The rig I listened to was a new wadia CD player, directly connected to
Adyton power amp + speakers. The main thing about this rig is that
there supposedly are absolutely no active or passive filters anywhere
in the signal chain and that the whole system is absolutely linear
(source to speakers) from 10Hz to 100KHz

Is there anything to this.... Oh my dear, I listen to a standard
redbook CD and I would swear that this must be a completely different
mastering. It's just impossible to imagine that this is the same
version of The wall That we are regularly listening to from CD's or
LP's. The impact and dynamics are so imminent and just there that's
it's just plain scary. If there was a window in the room I beet that I
would have jumped out. Roger Water's voice was real and "just there" I
could swear that no electronics where around anywhere.... This is like
listening in the studio with no electronics!!!

To me: It's impossoblie to describe and impossible to imagine that
anything could provide anytning better than this.
The silence is silent as so silent it'cant be more silent......
There's so much warmht in the music, sterile sound from CD. NO WAY!!!!!

This would probably be better dirctly from Vinyl, although, that's
impossile to imagine.... Well, CD is not sterile, CD is sterile because
of poor implementations...

Just to get things right, you could buy a large exspensive SUV for the
same amount as the cost of this rig.... and the SUV's are about 3 times
as expensive in Norway, compared to the US :-O (or any other civilized
country except from Denmark)

Cheers
