I think I am going to stick my hand up and stand corrected, bowing the fact that this is, of course, and international forum.
Despite my (way too many) years of interest in hi-fi, and despite the fact that I used to do live mixing professionally, I have not come across the use of bi-amping to mean active speakers in the UK.
