I really wasn't trying to say that the Beresford doesn't sound "good",
since as you say, I haven't heard it. What I was trying to do is
caution the OP against thinking that Duet's DAC can be so easily and
cheaply bettered. If, as you state, the Beresford is a real giant
killer, then great but all too often in the world of audio people end
up spending large sums of money only to get marginal, if any,
improvement. Spending money is easy, spending the same money *wisely*
is much harder.
