Ligald, I have driven my Krell poweramp direct from a TP via balanced connections. To be honest, it sounded the best I have ever heard the TP or my system sound. Ditching the pre-amp between the TP and poweramp eliminates additional distortion and noise, no matter how good the preamp. I only went back to the preamp as I needed its switching capability.
