To add to your choices, you might consider a Bryston BDA-1 DAC. Its recieving universal praise from all those publications that review it, including those very stringent German ones, and retails for about the same as the Transporter, but includes a few more features. The only thing you lose is the hi rez capabilty of the Transporter as opposed to the SB3.
