What about the 20w amps in the Squeeky DS? Could the Squeeky drive a pair of efficient loudspeakers for a beefy sound in a reasonably sized room? That could be a cost effective option.
What efficient speakers would do the job? The small integral amps strike me as very odd - £1000 is a bit much for a sound system in the kitchen or a bedroom. A bit much for me, anyway.
