If just for mainly computer use, close to the speaker, and small room, then I would just get the A2s. If you know for sure that they will be used in a bigger room and not for near sound listening later, then it would be worth wild to consider the A5s. As in, if later you might pair them with an SB3, Duet, or Touch in a larger room like a den or living room.
If considering the AudioEngine A5s, also look at the Adam A5. This is going to be confusing as the Adam gets more popular. I listened to a pair of them at CEDIA and they were fairly impressive. I would like to do an ABX of the two A5s to see where the strengthens of each are and who I think the overall winner would be. -- iPhone *iPhone* Media Room: Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono's, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, Vandersteen Speakers: Quatro Mains, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Video: Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1 Living Room: Duet, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Kitchen: Squeezebox BOOM Bedroom: Second Boom Bathroom: Squeezebox Radio Ford Thunderbird: Duet, Mac Mini Ford Expedition: SB Touch, USB drive ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67800 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
