You are probably right, I did not want to come across as smarty pants, sorry if I did... But what would be the reason to use a standalone redbook CD player as a transport ? My question is partially raised because of a thread in rec.music.classical.recording "What a collector loses (and gains) in the age of music downloading" and I'm quite surprised at the attachment to the physical CD...
