Sorry for completely derailing what once was a decent tread, that
actually had some info on the subject choosen by the OP. :)

On the topic again.

The most practical way to listen to lossles files on a squeezebox is
flac in the form of a single file per song decently tagged and with
embedded artwork.
And don't bother with file type settings or editing convert.conf files,
let the server stream native flac to the players.

Sometimes go with the flow and use a product exactly as intended by the
designers is the best, it just works !
