It seems your Creek is the limiting factor in your system. Looking at
the measurements section of the Stereophile review,
http://stereophile.com/integratedamps/107creek/index4.html
it would be the equivalent of trying to evaluate the quality of the
optics, in different binoculars, when viewing both through a dirty
window. I would patch out of the Creek to a better quality amp, and redo
the comparison. This would probably reveal greater differences, but
still may not be significant enough to justify the increased cost. The
other thing that bothers me is that your speakers put a crossover at
2200hz, right at the most sensitive area of human percetpion. Not good
IMHO.
