Yes the wireless is a seperate chip, but the firmware is monolithic, meaning it isn't modular so they can't just drop the wireless drivers from the source and release that. There may be other pieces that cannot be released as source too. In face, you have all the WMA code in there that they couldn't open source, plus any handling of subscription radio services as well.
Not just the Xilinx, but the whole IP3K development platform needs to be bought, if it's not $10K, it's probably more. -- funkstar '[project log] funkstars digital lifestyle' (http://forums.hexus.net/hexus-lifestyle/179882-project-log-funkstars-digital-lifestyle.html) - 'hexus.community' (http://forums.hexus.net/) *in use:* *1*x touch, *1*x boom, *2*x sb3, *1*x controller *in a box:* *1*x radio, *1*x (beta) controller, *1*x receiver, *1*x sb2 wired (silver), *1*x sb (black), *1*x slimp3 (with rear shield) if you have any others, let me know, i'm interested!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ funkstar's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2335 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78453 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
