I have also compared generic ethernet cables from 3ft to 25t. No difference in sound as far as I could tell. I now use the 25 footers. If cheap ethernet cable doesnt sound different over big length differences like that, I doubt there would be a difference in short "audiophile grade" cat-5. I'm open to be convinced though. I didnt think there would be a difference between WIFI and ethernet. At least with my system, I was very surprised.
