And you might want to explore the vortexbox approach. If you have an old machine sitting around you could install vortexbox on it and turn it into both a ripper (for doing both your lossless and lossy) and a server for running SbS. Or you can even buy a Vortexbox appliance which would be turnkey for both a ripper and server.
