Assuming that speaker cables indeed make a difference (and apparently
the jury is still out on that one), then the question regarding where
does one stop becomes moot. One stops whenever one a.) feels happy with
the achieved result, or b.) runs out of audio budget.

If it so happens that a completely self-absorbed, self-centered person
(basically, a bastard) wins a 150 million dollars jackpot, and if he at
the same time happens to be into high-end audio, then for him spending
$44,000 on a pair of Nordost Odin cables would not be a big deal.
Pocket change, compared to 150 million.
